Love this boy! He has been sleeping HORRIBLY lately and it's really wearing on my ability to be a nice person. After complaining on Facebook though, (maybe I should do that more often!) last night he slept from like 8PM till 7AM! Ahhhhhh! (Ok, that was supposed to be the angelic sound, not a scream)
To be fair, he didn't nap much, and I also force fed him rice cereal and squash for supper since he usually won't eat any food. He's been wanting to eat twice a night again though, so I decided I'm not taking no for an answer. And it worked! I'm going to try and duplicate that for tonight so that I can enjoy my sleep more not wondering when he's going to wake up next! I think we're going to go down to two naps instead of 3 too. I can't remember how old Brenna was when we did this. Mason is just over 6 months... do you remember when you did the switch? It's such a hard decision because I love three naps! haha

This morning, Brenna came to get me as usual. Instead of bringing me to the kitchen for breakfast like normal she said "no, Brenna's room!" So we walked to her room and I said "didn't you want breakfast this morning?" She said that she wasn't hungry. I was a little confused, but her face was a bit dirty so I went and asked Jeremy if he'd already gotten her breakfast. He hadn't.
Well, we made cookies last night, and they were in a zip lock bag on the counter. This is the first morning ever that Brenna hasn't come straight to our room upon waking up. I come to the kitchen and there are the remains of two cookies on the counter with the open bag. Well.. She had a really nutritious breakfast today! Haha I guess she remembered that there'd be cookies out here. The best part is, she just got them, ate them, then came to wake me up like normal! Goofy girl.

Vacuum Woes

So we have this vacuum, and it doesn't really do it's job. It barely picks anything up off the floor, and the dirt doesn't dump down into the bucket like it's supposed to, and I finally had it and started looking at other vacuums online and seeing how much we would need to spend to get a decent replacement for cheap.
After doing this, I decided that I would first troubleshoot on our vacuum a bit, so I downloaded the user manual and read about all the different parts you can clean and stuff to get it running better. So I started taking the vacuum apart. I should have taken pictures of this process, but I was so grossed out I was just going as fast as I could. I first took out all the filters and cleaned them, but then I read about cleaning the spinner thing, so I did that, and then looked up the air hole or something, and it was jammed with stuff. I so had to unclog the tube thing too, and pull a TON of hair off the spinner thing.... ANYWAY!! It was gross, and my vacuum is sitting here in pieces while all of the filters dry, but I have high hopes that after all that, that it will once again clean like it should! We shall see, if not, I may need suggestions of reliable vacuums that are still pretty cheap!

Add to Your Prayers

Ok, I was just thinking last night that I don't know why I didn't do this FOREVER ago! Jeremy's cousin Alicia and her husband recently had a baby. This baby they knew was going to be sick, and possibly not live. As is stands today she is a miracle baby defying all odds and is nearly ready to come home. We have been praying for them earnestly for a long time now, as have so many others, and it seems like all those prayers are paying off! So, even though the toughest part has passed, I'm sure all prayers are still appreciated to help in her continued speedy recovery. If you get a chance to go back and read all of the posts, it's worth it. I find myself crying every time I read it. At first it was because I was so sad and concerned and hopeful for their future. It has gradually turned into tears of happiness, hope and faith that this beautiful baby will continue to be the miracle she is! Congratulations Alicia and Thomas and we will always continue to pray for you and we can't wait to meet Whitney one day soon! She's beautiful!

Check Out What I Did This Morning!

There is this website that I LOVE looking at. Maybe you've heard of it? It's www.makeit-loveit.com. I think almost all of her stuff is ingenious, and she tells you how to do it all for FREE!!! Can't beat that! I have tried a few things, and the other day I found this idea. I happened to have a couple of Jeremy's old shirts that were in the give away pile since they had things that I couldn't repair. So I decided to give it a try, since I've been pretty lazy in the crafting department lately. I think it turned out cute! (Excuse the mess in the background.. I've been distracted all morning with this project!)

So that's sorta fun. It's not as cute as the one on her website, and I didn't even attempt the flower because first of all, Mason woke up, and second of all, it looked tricky and I don't know if I like how it looked all that much anyway. I will brainstorm something to add a little umph to the outfit, but for now, this will do! Maybe a belt? I doubt she'd keep one on anyway!
So, you should check out her site, there so many cute ideas. I'm just waiting for someone I know well enough who is having a boy to give this as a gift. hehe I think it'd be funny! She has so many projects though, and a ton of baby/kid and also home decor things. LOVE IT!

Goofy

Potty training didn't take the exact course I was hoping it would. We are now taking a break from it. There have been too many yucky accidents to talk about and I just don't think she's ready. We're both getting pretty frustrated, and it's no longer exciting, it's just stressful! We will see how things go in a couple of months or something! In the mean time, life goes on! Brenna is so much fun and always is able to crack me up. She can drive me absolutely crazy too, but who couldn't love this goofball? Jeremy will hate that this is up here, but I think it's SO funny! She found this piece of Tule the other day and played with it all day long. This is her right after her bath playing with it more!
I taught her everything she knows! hahaha
Brenna is talking almost non-stop now and it is really fun to hear. She is very assertive most of the time, but I no longer have to constantly worry about her being a bully. She still has her moments of coarse, but it's much better, and now, more often than not, it's someone else's kid being the troublemaker and not mine. That's a great feeling!! I straightened her hair the other day to see how long it is. Pretty long!
Mason is still the happy guy he's known for. I love his shorter, lighter hair, and am glad we cut it when we did. He is now constantly rolling onto his tummy, but he still has trouble getting back again, so he gets upset once he's stuck. My only real complaint with Mason is that he has always had trouble sleeping at night. I have been swaddling him since he was born every time he sleeps. It used to help, but recently I've worried that it's hindering his sleeping abilities instead of helping. I decided two days ago to practice sleeping without being swaddled, and it went great. I mean, the first time he cried for a long time before he went to sleep, but after that, it was cake! So I was all proud and excited... today was a totally different story. He cried for really long periods today and only ever took like 2 20 minute naps. We're both exausted, but here's hoping for a good night and progress tomorrow! Here he is with his first mohawk!

Here's his first successful nap without crying and without being swaddled... it's a beautiful thing!
Brenna always wants to wear dresses now. This dress in particular. She loves twirling in them and dancing. I think it's adorable... plus this is a dress I made for her, so that doesn't hurt either. I think she has a good balance... she loves dinosaurs and dragons, but also loves dresses and pink. Sounds perfect to me! She found my glasses the other day, and I thought she looked so smart and old! haha and cute!
