Bumps and Bruises

Having tile floor worried me a little, but since we have a good amount of carpet too I was more at ease.  Last week there were two accidents though that led to pretty bad bruises!  Brenna fell off of the top of the couch and hit her cheek, she has a very bruised cheek now, but I think people just think it's dirt!  Then Mason was playing and somehow ran into the island with his eyebrow... it was a large goose egg!  So I have some pictures down a bit of Mason's eye about 3 or 4 days after the incident!
Also, Owen is almost walking now, he can get from sitting to standing without holding on to anything and he gets around very quickly.  I love that he loves playing with the cash register and kitchen so much though!

Notice the eye?  This is the face I get when I say hold still for a picture of your eye... haha

And here's a redo of our matching outfits photo shoot!  Such studs and studdettes!

Do you see the slightly crazy look in her eye?  She is OBSESSED with Owen and I would just love if anyone had any advice to get her to lay off!  She scares me!  The other week I was using the bathroom and Brenna went in to keep Owen happy while he was in his crib.  She does this a lot, and just plays with him through the rails until I get there.  This time she comes down the hallway holding Owen (he is very heavy and she should be holding him at all, and I don't even want to think about how she got him out of his crib!!!!).  Every day I feel like I can't take anymore of telling her to leave him alone!

I do love that she loves him though!

Blog Chain Letter... You Might be Next!

So my friend Jacque Challenged me in this blog chain letter thing.  Why not?  Here's the deal:

1. Post 11 random things about myself.
2. Answer the 11 questions my nominator asked me.
3. Create 11 questions for my own nominees.
4. Nominate 11 different bloggers with fewer than 200 followers.
5. Notify them and hope they play along.

So I will try and think of 11 interesting things about me now.. man this will be tough!

1. I have an extremely low tolerance for spicy food.  Like.. I don't even like to put pepper on things.  I catch a lot of teasing for it, but what can ya do?  My B-I-L just saw a TV thing about people with hyperly active pallets and now he thinks that's me.
2. For a long time growing up I couldn't wear lotion or lip balm because they completely grossed me out... so slimy and everyone sharing their lip stuff just disgusted me.  I am better about those things, but still cannot touch Vaseline.
3. I do a stork stand a lot when I'm standing still, mostly in the kitchen.  I get this from my mom.
4. I played basketball pretty much all growing up, and I almost never play now, but when I do, I think I'm better at it now than I ever was before... weird.
5. I lived in Canada for 18+ years, but lately I have been SOOO cold in this mild AZ winter.  Not outside so much, but inside our home I cannot seem to stay warm!
6. I think I have a pretty high pain tolerance, however I am so terrified of bees since I've never been stung, and I am sure it will hurt so bad!  Also scorpions terrify me.. they always seemed like mythical insects I would never encounter, till I moved here!
7. I Love love love sleeping under lots of warm blankets and being bundled up at night.
8. I like my showers to be almost too hot to stand in.
9. I had perfect seminary attendance.
10. My hair is longer now than it's been in a long time, and I'm planning on chopping it off now as soon as I get the chance!

My 11 questions to answer

1- If you had to eat at only one restaurant for the rest of your life, where would you eat?
That's so hard!  Maybe Applebees, or BJ's.
2- What is your dream car?
It would definitely be yellow.  After that I'm not extremely picky.. a Mustang maybe.
3- If you had to live in another country for the next 5 years, where would you live?
Pffft... challenge me.  haha Canada for sure.
4- What is the first cd you ever purchased?
I think it was a single for L.F.O.
5- If you could only have one tv station for the next year what tv station would you pick?
I would probably say ABC, but I was recently somewhere where there was cable, and I loved watching all of the HGTV shows too!  If I had cable my answer would probably be different.
6- What is your favorite thing about yourself, least favorite thing, looks wise?
My favorite thing might be my hands.. they're small and usually soft.  Least favorite things come to mind more easily of coarse... my post-baby tummy probably.
7- If your family got asked to be on TLC what would the name of your show be, and what would you be on there for?
I have no idea!!  Life with the three cutest kids in the world.  haha I don't know.
8- Would you rather you got one horrible haircut, or all your children got 5 horrible haircuts in a row?
I would take one for the team... I am a pony tail pro anyway.  As long as we're not talking like pixie cut, then I might pick the kids.
9- Favorite movie EVER and Worst movie you have ever seen?
Favorite movie How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, or 10 Things I Hate About You.  Worst movie? Recently? Hope Springs... Don't see it.. gross.
10- Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, which one is your favorite?
Facebook, it's the only one I have.
11- Do you like summer or winter better, and why?
Spring has always been my favorite.  In AZ I'll go with Winter, Canada summer.  Because they are moderate in temperature!

Christmas and So Forth!

Well Merry belated Christmas everyone!  I have been so busy with family since the Holidays that I haven't had a chance to update!  I finally got the pictures off of my mom's camera and now I can tell you how our holidays went!
Christmas was a lot of fun, and packed with family and love.  We went to family gatherings and meals, and then Christmas Eve we had Grandma Cook sleep over and spend the morning with the kids!  We woke up really late since the kids were out so late the night before, and I was the only one up early with excitement!  But everyone eventually woke and we had a lovely morning!

Brenna thought of getting Mason a basketball all by herself!  Melts my heart!

I got this for free off the curb!  In nearly perfect condition, minus the duct tape and a few missing shelves inside... I am fairly excited about this find!

This was Mason's present from Grandma Shannon and Grandpa Cook... yah, he loves it!!!  And Brenna loves giving brother Owen rides too!

This was just the other day, Owen got a haircut and I think it's the cutest!  He got this car track also from Gramps and Gran Cook and was having so much fun with it!

There is a gap in pictures because the day after Christmas we all got really sick.  Actually every single person in the entire extended family except Jeremy got the flu... a bad bad flu.  Brenna got it the worst and relapsed after everyone else was feeling better.  It was sad, but we're all better now!  My SIL Sylvia had her baby the day after Christmas, so that was really exciting, but too bad everyone was so sick and the excitement had to be from a distance!
My family got here the Friday after Christmas, and we had such a great time with them.  We spent a good deal of our time in Gilbert with everyone.  It's always such a happy time for me when our whole entire family can be together.  My mom made everyone in the whole family matching jammies!

Jessica is due April 1st with a little nephew for me and I absolutely cannot wait to meet the little guy!  You can't even tell in the pic that she's pregnant, but she is the cutest pregnant lady around!

We went to Out of Africa Wildlife Zoo on Friday, and it was really neat!  Our favorite part was feeding the giraffe!  So fun!

And this is Sunday in their new outfits.  I will have to get better pictures because Mason and Owen have matching outfits, but Owen was napping and Mason was unhappy about taking a picture... but this is what we got!

We didn't take too many pictures unfortunately, but we sure had fun.  LOTS of games every night, which is just the way I like it!  We saw the Dutton's show in Mesa on New Years Eve, we played some basketball, we did a lot of hot-tubbing, and eating and hanging out!  The kids loved all of the attention! I even got to see two of my aunts and my Grandma in the last few days!  They all left today, and although goodbye's are always sad, I think that after two weeks the ones that were still here were just about ready to get home and get back to regular life!  We will count down the days until we can see them again!  Meanwhile we have Baby Emrie to love and get to know, and lots of family here to enjoy!  I love the holidays, and I'm excited for the new year!

Stuck!

I want to save my post about Christmas and new years and family visiting when I have the pictures off of my mom's camera!  But I thought I would write about our adventure trapped in Mason's room the other night!
It all started when Jeremy left to bring his grandpa dinner.  He was going to be gone all night since he was picking up my cousin Brent at the airport later around 10.  So at bedtime I was getting the kids all ready and then we went in Mason's room for scriptures and stories and all that jazz.  I don't usually shut the door for this, but since Owen is crawling and I didn't want him to wander out and tumble down the stairs, we shut the door.  At the end I told Brenna to go wait in her bed while I tucked Mason in.  She couldn't get the door open!  She had her hands sort of full, so I thought she was just not able to get a good grip.  When I went over to open the door, I realized that the outside of the handle was turned while the inside was straight, and it was not going to snap back into place from the inside.  We tried and tried and tried, but no luck.  I was using every toy I could find to try and unjam it, but no luck.  So we started a movie and made a bed on the floor for everyone.  I was just going to wait it out in there until 11 or so when Jeremy would get home with Brent and let us out.
I started getting anxious because Owen was up really late and hadn't had a bottle yet and we still had a long time to wait!  Of coarse, my phone was downstairs, so I didn't even know for sure what time it was and nobody knew we were stuck!  Then it suddenly struck me that Jeremy took Brent's car and when he got home he wouldn't be able to get into the house without me, and he wouldn't know we were stuck upstairs!  I started getting a bit frantic then.  So I told the kids to watch out and stand back because momma was gonna break that door down.  haha that's right, watch out!
I had been able to get the nails out of the hinges, but it wasn't budging the door since the thingy was still closed.  So I just put my feet on the wall and pulled out on the door from the bottom as hard as I could.  I was expecting the bottom of the door to snap right off, but suddenly the middle hinges popped loose!  Better result that I was expecting!  So I did it again and the whole door popped right off!  It was really heavy!  It sort of fell backwards, it's good that I had told everyone to sit back!
So we got out, and Jeremy got home and everyone survived.  I haven't put the door back on yet though because I think I will replace the door handle first just incase that might happen again!  Nothing like a little excitement on a quiet night at home!
