Vaca!

We were able to go on a quick trip to San Diego for a few days and enjoy some time as a family.  Jeremy's mom and his grandpa were there and nice enough to invite us along to say in their time share.  It was a quick trip, but the kids had so much fun!!  They saw the ocean for the first time (except Brenna who saw it when she was a baby) and got to play in the waves and the sand, they got to go to the Mormon Battalion Memorial, and to Knotts Berry Farm.  They were thrilled about it all!
It can be very stressful vacationing with a large, young family, but we all had a good time in the end!

When we first arrived we went and looked at the ocean, some seals, and some snails and crabs.

I didn't get a really clear picture of it, but the kids were in this cove playing in the waves and these 3 seals were there with all the people, not afraid at all.  The kids would get close then see that the seals weren't intimidated and run away.  One time Mason chased a seal but instead of running away it started running towards Mason... needless to say he turned tail screaming and running the other way!  haha

Sunday we went to church then to the Mormon Battalion which was a lot neater that I expected!  Mason got picked to dress as a soldier and was thrilled that they handed him a gun and a knife... he got it taken away when he kept trying to point the gun and take the knife our of it's sheath.  Everyone was chuckling... such a boy.

Knotts Berry farm was a fun day!  We had been looking forward to it and it didn't disappoint!  The only thing I would have changed is that we went on senior trip day and there were thousands of seniors there from high school as it opened.  But It still worked out really well!  Oh and the other thing that was sad is that Owen was not feeling great... he was burning up with a fever part way through the morning... but I don't know if I'd go back and change that... he took two naps in the stroller, which worked out since he was too small to ride quite a few of the rides... but it was really sad, and I was feeling bad for him.  He handled it great though and still had fun!

Laying on Grandma while we ate lunch.. obviously not himself!

Brenna begged me to take her picture with these statues... odd!
This was their first ride of the day, and I thought Owen would be frightened... he loved it!  It's a baby drop of fear ride!

Jeremy's Grandpa is 89 and was such a trouper.. he made it through the whole day!  I am impressed, and feel a little bad for dragging him along!  He even rode a few rides!

The day after Knotts Berry, the boys had to go golfing (of coarse) and so we went to a cute little playground for the morning.  The kids had a fun time playing, and even conquered the rock wall which they didn't think they could do at the beginning!

Then we went to the beach for the afternoon!  Everyone boogie boarded a bit and we played and found crabs and had a good time.  The ocean isn't really my thing, but I did get in for a few minutes and caught the first wave that came along on the boogie board!

And that night Jeremy's mom watched the kids so that we could go to the temple with Grandpa!  It was neat to go inside a temple that I always loved as a girl!  Such a beautiful place!  And I didn't faint!  Win!

The next day we played at the beach a bit more with cousins this time before we headed for home.  It was especially fun to have some more family to play with!  If the place was bigger we could have all played more!

So that's our trip!  It was a good length, packed with fun and ready to go home too.
Since we've been home things haven't slowed down!  We finished our bathroom (I'll post pictures!), we started swimming lessons, which is every day, and have been swimming with friends over a few times and deep cleaning in our spare time!

This little lady is crawling, standing, and thinking about her first steps!  My baby!

Owen's first day of swimming lessons!
After our first day of swimming ALL DAY LONG Brenna's hair was terrifying.. so I decided to braid it back for two weeks!  She was a great sport!

After Brenna's hair we decided to try Sadie's first pony... haha we'll stick with headbands for a while longer!
Lastly we had a family date night with Jeremy's brothers and all of our families, and it was tons of fun!  We went to Peter Piper Pizza and the boys had as much fun as the kids beating the high score on the basketball game!  Summer is awesome!!!
