I was looking through some old photos tonight to find a good one of Mason for the nursery wall since he didn't cooperate the Sunday we were taking pictures.  I found these and realized I never wrote in detail about Brenna's gymnastics experience!
It was a while ago now, about 4 months ago, but she loved it.  I was going to put her back in, and just realized the deadline is probably like any day now to do it, so maybe I still will.  She loved having something fun to do in a class, and she was pretty good at all the moves too!  She now does "forward rolls" all over the place and LOVES hanging on bars and trying to do flips all by herself.  She's quite bendy and strong and was loving all of the opportunities to monkey around!  Her teacher was great, she's in our stake and does it in her garage which she turned into a gym and does it almost full time from home.  She was so nice and patient with the little 3 year old class!  Definitely a test of patience!
I didn't get too many great pictures because I felt a little bit weird being the only parent there snapping photos, but I got a few!

This photo above is the cartwheel station, which was Brenna's only real downfall.  She didn't really ever understand what she was supposed to do here, but loved jumping over the snake anyway!
Bars and rings were DEFINITELY her favorite stations.  She's a little monkey and now when we go to the park she is always jumping up on the bar and sticking her feet up trying to flip!

My cute little gymbug!

Three for Thursday

So I wrote this on Wednesday and scheduled it to post, but I guess that doesn't work for some reason!  So it's a little late, but really, it was early!!

1. Three things that have kept me from blogging lately.
       - lack of pictures
       - lack of motivation/interesting things to say
       - too much timing pinning fun projects on pinterest and adding things to my to-do list

2. Three things that leave me wide awake and staring at my ceiling at 3 am.

       - disturbing pregnancy dreams
       - wondering how early Mason is going to wake up and if I have enough time to actually enjoy my last bit of sleep
       - being unable to get comfortable in any position and missing being able to roll onto my tummy!

3. Three Halloweenish things, thoughts, plans, ideas, memories, etc.

       - I still don't have a costume made, planned or picked for Mason... I am procrastinating!
       - Brenna will most likely be a princess and finally wear the tutu I made her for her birthday!
       - If I had the energy, I would make a skeleton with a baby skeleton for me, but as Halloween draws closer, I don't think I do!

4. Three reasons I love being a mom in October.

       - Things are starting to cool off here FINALLY (starting... sorta) and we can go back to the park.  The kids love the park.
       - It is getting closer to Holiday season, and being a PREGNANT mom, I am very much looking forward to Thanksgiving!
       - My kids are cute in October... haha an every other month.

5. Three things I just need to get off my chest.

       - I am feeling such a mix of intense feelings lately, and I'm having trouble dealing with them.
       - I am normal... YOU are weird and I can't deal!  (not you incase you're wondering)
       - If anyone else gets sick in my house... you might be on your own!

Three pictures:

We took this picture at the park this week as a goodbye to our friend DJ (in the front).  I am very sad that they are leaving us this week.  His mom and I are good friends, and I am very sad to see her and her family go!

Mason loves the water, and we got more than our fare share this summer.  He loved every minute of it. He loves splash pads, and swimming, and he is really good at swimming now that we got him a floaty! I just love watching him float around in the water and kick those legs!

My kids are cracking me up with their snacks lately.  I just got them some Apple Dapples (cereal) for snack, and they each took them to the table, but then instead dumped them on the floor to, and I quote, "eat like cows.".  They have done this fairly often lately, I don't know where they got it, but it definitely makes me laugh!  And gives me some motivation to keep my floors clean!
Brenna has been exceptionally lovely lately, always giving hugs, like almost constantly throughout the day.  That makes me happy too.  haha Mason will often follow suit since he loves to copy his big sister.
Brenna keeps talking about the baby in my tummy and wanting to hug it and kiss it and then she always says, "but it's not a girl mommy, it's a boy".  We were both so sure it was a girl!  She's a little sad to not be having a sister, but now we just talk about banding together as girls since we'll be outnumbered soon!
Mason has started (again) waking up early, this time it's 5:45 almost to the minute every morning, even this morning when he went to bed 2 hours later than normal.  I was sure that would buy me at least another half hour in the morning... not so.
Mason is obsessed with balls and he is really good at throwing, catching, and kicking them.  We are prety excited to have a future athlete on our hands, and I think my life will soon enough be FILLED with kids and their sports with another boy on the way and two active kids already!  We can't wait to see them suit up in their first uniforms!
I have been feeling overwhelmed a little lately.  We had a sickness run through the whole family, and although I never got hit, Jeremy and Brenna got hit pretty bad.  We are just now finally all feeling better and hopefully getting back to normal.  My constant thoughts are that I don't have to be stressed, just organized, and it wouldn't be all that hard, I just can't always get that done!  I am hoping to do it this week though and then have a new outlook on life!
My sister is getting married, and I'm so happy.  I get to be a bridesmaid, so if you have any suggestions about patterns or things for maternity bridesmaids dresses, we're trying to figure that out now!

Just some random thoughts for the day!

The Results Are In!!!!

Well, the results are in!  We went to the doctor today and found out what's growing inside of me!  First of all, I am measuring 2 weeks early, so THAT is why I've felt bigger partly, I'm already halfway!  My due date is more like March 1st-ish now instead.  And Second, I was shocked to find that we are having a BOY!!  I was so sure it was a girl (for no reason at all) that I have found myself in stores picking out supplies to make bows and things and then having to remind myself that I didn't know yet and put them back.  We were both pretty surprised, but very happy.  Mason is excited, and Brenna is still a little upset that it isn't a sister, but she thinks we should name him Mason so we can have two Masons.  We can't convince her otherwise!  Thanks for voting!  We're very excited to meet him in about 4.5 months!

Sick

So, I would never wish sickness upon either of my children.  It is NO FUN watching your child suffer and not being able to do much about it.  I will say though, if one of my kids is going to get sick, I would rather it be... ok, this doesn't sound right, but maybe you understand.  My kids have been sick.  Well, first Mason got sick last weekend for a few days.  It started with a fever that got worse instead of better, then after a day or two, was accompanied by a bad sore throat/cough/hard time breathing.  He wouldn't eat much, he was irritable, cranky, wouldn't sleep any extra than normal if even that, and FULL of energy.  But sick, so we couldn't leave the house, and if anything happened or if a cough attack hit, he'd be very cranky for a long time.
Then there's Brenna.  A few days after Mason was feeling better (he still sounds a tad sick even days later) when we thought we were out of the woods, and resumed normal activities, Brenna got hit.  Same sickness, except her fever and other throat symptoms hit pretty well at the same time.  So yesterday morning she woke up hot and sick.  She put herself down for a nap early after eating every bite of her lunch since I said it would help her feel better.  (she usually won't eat much and never naps) She spent the afternoon mostly cuddled on the couch, mellow as can be, then at dinner time, she wouldn't eat, said she was tired, and put herself to bed at 6:15.  She woke up at 8:30 for a few minutes, but fell asleep while waiting on a cookie.  She woke up again around 10:30, but only for a few minutes, then she slept till 8!  There were a few more interruptions, but all very fast and she always went right back to sleep!  Then today she was feeling a lot better in the morning, but then it hit again, she napped again and has been pretty mellow on the couch all afternoon.
It's funny the differences.  Brenna is definitely a mellow, cuddly sick person, Mason, we recently determined is a cranky, high maintenance sick person who I definitely don't want to deal with!  So, I hope that Brenna is better soon too, and that Jeremy and I stay healthy so we can keep having fun and enjoying this cool (relatively) weather!

A few pictures of life lately!  I have gotten out of the habit of taking pictures, which is going to have to change!  We do have some cute ones though!  Oh, and a quick reminder, we find out what we're having in just a few days!  Vote for what you think!  We can't wait to find out!!!

I decided to try curlers for fun in Brenna's hair the other night!  I didn't know if she's sleep with them or not since they're so hard, but she did really well and Mason wanted in on the fun too, which I happily obliged to!  What silly kids!

This are her after the curlers came out pictures.  I am just realizing now that I didn't get any great ones, but her hair was cute!  Her normal curls are a lot tighter so it was just a fun change for the day!  Oh, and she was dressing up like daddy ready for work since he left his shoes out!

This is Brenna ready for her very first sleepover.  Grandma Cook wanted to have her and her two older cousins over for a sleepover, and Brenna had never been more excited.  She had a blast and she sure loves her cousins and her grandma.  They painted, swam, and ate lots of umm... exciting food!  haha  She was a little sad to learn that I wouldn't be staying, which warmed my heart a bit too!

We went out for a very rare date night that night and got an actual babysitter.. this almost NEVER happens.  When we got home the babysitter mentioned that Mason took a long time to fall asleep.  I had told her what we do but I guess I left something important out.  haha she had left all of the hall lights on outside his room and left his door wide open for bedtime.  It was sort of funny when I saw that and was impressed that he ever went to sleep at all!  I guess I should have told her we usually shut his door.  And by the way, I have never given him a sippy cup in bed before, but it doesn't look like he particularly cared if it was there or not!  Cute!

The other day I got Brenna out some coloring things and then I went to my room to do some cleaning.  I was in there a while, and when I stopped to listen for a minute (and maybe lie down and relax for a minute) I realized that Brenna was being oddly quiet.  I went to look for her, a little nervous of what I would find, when I stumbled upon this!  Sometimes, a girl just needs a nap!

We are finally able to go to the park for play dates (this week anyway) since it's cooled down a little, and the kids are loving it.  Today was Mason's first time on the big swings, and he loved it.  The kids stayed on the swings for quite a long time while we tried to teach Brenna to pump like her friend Brayden, and Mason and his friend Noah smiled and giggled while learning different animal sounds and swinging... it really was too cute!

And lastly, we have been practicing some wedding hairdos for Brenna for my sister's wedding at Christmas... ok, this is the first one we've tried, but I could get better at this and maybe do it!  Any suggestions on good wedding little girl hair?
