Our Weekend

We had a fairly typical weekend, but a few fun things happened, and a few unfortunate things too!  Good news first though!  We took the kids bowling, and they LOVED it!  Jeremy also got 7 strikes in a row.... show off!  When he realized I was almost going to beat him, he suddenly turned on his skill and finished the game with three strikes in the last frame, followed by 4 more to begin the next game... I was so close!  Should have kept my mouth shut about almost winning!

Brenna's granny bowl

We also had someone who seemed interested in maybe renting our house out, so that was good, and we had a really nice family bbq/olympic watching get together Sunday night.  What a Nice weekend!

All of my beautiful children... they look so harmless here!

This little one definitely never hurts for attention around here!   He can now roll both ways, although he is a little too lazy to roll back to front most of the time.  We sure love him!
Getting ready for church!

The highlight I think was that Brenna and I got to wear our matching skirts that mommy made to church together... yes, we are nerds, but she was SO excited to be matching with mommy (and I was sort of excited too!)

The not so good highlights, are that I woke up with a huge migraine headache Saturday morning.  My head hurt all day long, although it was only unbearable for 3 hours or so, and I threw up 3 times because of it... not fun.

In other news this boy:

Is causing us some trouble this weekend.  He has entered what I hope is a VERY short phase of incessant whining!  It's almost unbelievable the level of whining this kid has cranked it up to!  And his listening skills are diminishing.  haha bedtimes have been a nightmare and we are looking for suggestions!  The two oldest share a room, and Brenna is usually pretty good, but Mason gets into all sorts of trouble.  BUT we still love him and he's still cute.  We are working hard on using "big boy words" instead of whining as I have convinced both kids that mommy can't understand whining voices, only normal voices.  So many fun phases of the two year old!

The Life of a Stinker-Pot

So, I call the kids stinker-pots sometimes... I guess too much, because now Mason says it a lot.  And sometimes he's quite proud of the fact that he's a stinker-pot.  Or if Brenna annoys him he'll go *big grunt* STINKER-POT!!!!  I think it's funny... as long as nobody's around to judge!  haha
Anyway, as you may have read in my previous post, Mason snuck into the medicine and undid a child-lock and drank some Tylenol yesterday.  Today I got Mason some breakfast, then went to wake up Brenna to get ready for church.  I got distracted getting Brenna ready and when I heard Mason in the bathroom I immediately hurried over to see what sort of mess he was making... this is what I found.

This one is my favorite... he knows he's in trouble.. haha

yup... just chillin in the bathroom eating my cereal.  So odd!  He has turned into such a sneaky little stinker-pot lately!  Fingers crossed nothing too crazy happens!  (like drinking tylenol isn't scary enough!!)

Some other updates.  First, a question for anyone who may have some insights.  So this is Brenna's hair.  It is super curly on the bottom, and in the front, but the whole top half is basically completely straight.  It's driving me nuts!!  She can't wear it down because it looks so scraggly half curly.  It looks nice when I curl it, or straighten it, but honestly, that happens like once ever two months or less.  Do we just deal with it?  I don't think I can cut it because I can't picture it being nice when it's short unless the top half curled up!  haha grrr....

I made my first quilt!  It's for Downy Quilts for Kids where they give it to sick kids in the hospital.  It was free, they sent me everything, I just sewed it up and mailed it back!  I am so excited to do something nice.  I got the idea off of the makeit-loveit website (which is my favorite blog ever!!)

And can't leave without a couple pictures of this stud.  He's rolling tummy to back regularly and almost always being too cute for words!

There he goes!!!

6 years

6 years ago (yesterday) was this beautiful day.  Well, ok, not exactly.  These pictures are from my Canadian reception which was one week before the actual wedding day.  I much prefer these Canada pictures to our actual wedding day pictures (being it my first day in 115 degree weather, not lookin so hot!).  SO, back to the point, happy 6 year anniversary to us!  My kids decided to make our day special.  To start it out, Mason apparently had snuck out before anybody else had been awake and drank acetaminophen.  Yup, somehow got the lid off the bottle (I even checked the child lock because I knew I was planning to leave it on the counter, more on that later) drank some, and dumped some on the carpet.  We are sleeping peacefully in our bed all the while.  Then when Brenna woke up, she was still feeling sick (she'd had a 103.3 degree fever the night before, hence the plan of leaving the tylenol on the counter with measuring spoon for easy overnight access).  So I went out to get her a drink and stepped in something red and sticky on the carpet.  I was so confused until I smelled it and saw the drippy bottle back on the counter.  I ran in our room and Mason proudly admitted that he'd drank the medicine.  so I got the number for poison control ( I don't know how serious this is or anything) and gather supplies for cleaning the carpet.  I get down to start cleaning the carpet and no sooner do I sit on the floor that Brenna promptly starts barfing a few feet away.  She'd been sick and hadn't eaten in 24 hours, so it was all water thank goodness, but still... not pleasant.  So Jeremy jumps up, and takes Brenna to urgent care.  We were pretty sure she had strep throat.  I clean up the messes, call poison control (turns out, no big deal!) and get ready to go play the piano at a funeral.  Jeremy runs in the door with Brenna (no strep, just a virus) and I run out to play at the funeral (where the A/C was out.. HOT!)  When I got home, Jeremy said someone had called wanting to see our house (it's up for rent) so we cleaned quickly, then waited... and waited... and waited... ok, they're a no-show for seeing the house.
WHEW!  What a day so far!  We had a date planned, and Brenna was just vegging, so we planned to go.  Jeremy's mom was babysitting.  She got here late and we had an appointment, so we ran out the door shouting directions as we went.  At this point, I had been on the brink of tears because I thought we were going to miss our massage appointments for 4 since she was late and I had been really looking forward and kept a good attitude all day since I knew we were going out.... phewf, just barely got out in time to save me from breaking down!
Then we had a very nice time getting massages, and eating out, playing checkers and getting groceries.  I really enjoyed our date night and spending time with Jeremy.  We had a good time visiting, and lame as it may sound, I like grocery shopping with Jeremy (and our fridge was almost completely empty! so we didn't have a choice!)
It's hard to believe it's been only 6 years!  So much has happened!  We have 3 beautiful children to show for it!  I sure do love my man!  Happy anniversary sweety!

And us on our 6 year anniversary yesterday!  Not much has changed!

The Hair Cut!

Well, it finally happened!  We cut little Owen's hair!  He had the same hair that his brother had that we have coined "the Conan Hair" and it's definitely cute, but it also definitely has to go!  After a certain point.  Jeremy didn't think we were quite there, but after I tried a pony tail in it and realized how long it was (and what a pretty girl he could make!) we decided it was time!  So, here it is!  The before:

And the after:

See, he likes it!

He was all smiles and giggles afterward, and it's fun because it sort of spikes up, which I have never been able to get Mason's hair to do.  We'll see if it's still spiked tomorrow!  Little stud!  It did make him look a bit older though.  My baby is growing much too fast!  But those cheeks are so kissable!  If you see him, you'll realize it too... it's hard to resist!  haha OK sorry, enough about my child's cuteness!

In other exciting news, Owen rolled over for the first time a couple of days ago.  Now everytime he's on his tummy almost, he turns over to his back.  So strong!
Also, I finally broke into the 140's with my pregnancy weight loss.  I still have about 12-13 more lbs to go to get back to where I like to be, but it was not easy getting out of the 150's for me this time!  I am so excited, and I hope I can keep it up, because by winter I definitely want to fit into all my old jeans again!  For now I can finally fit some new birthday clothes my mom got for me (thanks again mom and dad!) that we bought in my normal size even though I was far from that on my birthday!

Funny story, most people are their smallest in highschool and then get bigger as they get older.  I was about 10-15 lbs heavier in high school than I have been for my adult life (excluding pregnancies).  So that's a little different, and I'm not sure why it worked that way!  My mom is too good of a cook I guess!

Owen Wilson...oops Cook

I just have to post about this sweet boy.  Owen is 4 months old now, and he is such a joy to our family! We all love him an incredible amount, and every time I kiss his sweet pudgy little cheeks (which is like 3 times a minute I swear) I can't stop thinking about how much I love him!  Of coarse, I feel this way about all of my kids, but this post is about Owen!
He is 4 months, 26.75 inches tall, and 17lbs 2oz.  That puts him in the 95% for height, and 90th for weight.  So, incase we hadn't realized it, we have a big boy.  He is 4 months old, but wearing 9 month clothes, but it doesn't bother me that he's so big.  It does make me miss a tiny newborn a little (Brenna seemed to stay small for so long!), but he is just a doll!  I forgot to take a good picture of him today, so here he is ready for bed with a little photo shoot right before!

I had an adorable video of him laughing for Jeremy, but it won't upload!  So, after Brenna, I wasn't baby hungry again until she was about 9 months, with Mason it took me longer, until he was maybe 15 months, and so I just assumed I'd be good after Owen until he was like 2.... not so!  I don't know if it's because he's such a GOOD baby, or because life is just better with him in our family, or because he's growing so fast, or what it is, but I am already occasionally thinking that I could do this again sooner than later.  Crazy the thoughts and hormones of a new mom!
Things about Owen:
He sleeps almost a full 12 hours with one feeding time at night
He almost never cries unless he's hungry, or getting shots
He smiles all the time, and it is ridiculously infectious
He is loud!  Happy loud usually, but if he has a toy, he is so excited and very loud about it!
He is big, but also long, so he isn't too chubby... I think he'll be our baller and Mason might be our football player.

I hope he is always so sweet and happy and content!  Maybe he'll skip the terrible twos and threes!
